Loeries entries reflect broader industry trendsAll the entries for this year's Loeries are in and the numbers reflect general industry and economic trends. Digital entries are at a record high and entries are also up for the Ubuntu Award for Sustainable Marketing, Integrated Communication, as well as entries from Africa and the Middle East. "The numbers show that digital is finally being taken seriously in the South African media mix, although traditional media is still the mainstay of brand communication," say Loeries CEO, Andrew Human. Digital entries now comprise just over 10% of the total number of Loeries entries, and the trend is clearly towards integrated and digital communication. Some of the key numbers from this year's entries: For the first time, the number of digital entries has exceeded 300. This means that, while radio, TV and print still form the bulk of entries, the digital category is approaching the established categories in size. The number of entries for sustainable marketing (Ubuntu Award) is up a remarkable 79%. Entries for Integrated Campaigns are up 30%. Entries from Africa and the Middle East are up 20%.
