Power of 40 - KZN

DESTINY and DESTINY MAN, in association with Bisquit Cognac, bring you the Power of 40 events.

Buckland will be the guest speaker at the upcoming DESTINY and DESTINY Man's Power of 40 events.

He was named one of South Africa's 100 most influential media and advertising people by The Annual.
Buckland is the Managing Director and founder of the Cape Town-based digital agency Creative Spark and publisher of award-winning social media and emerging technology analysis site, Memeburn.com.

He has given inspirational talks all around the world, including New York, London, Berlin, Amsterdam, Ireland and Kenya, so it only made sense that he speak to like-minded entrepreneurs on his home soil.

As a young maverick of the online world, Buckland is a prime example of the kind of South African DESTINY and DESTINY MAN aim to draw to these events.

At the Power of 40 events, Buckland will share how his persistence, vision and self-belief have helped his career so far.

Persistence comes with a strong vision. Self-belief grows with each milestone of achievement. Vision comes from imagining an ideal future of what you want to be. Finally, plot the course of action you are going to take in order to get there and pull in the help of people around you who have a strong network - Buckland says adding that there is still so much more he would like to achieve.

Although Buckland believes there is no set of rules applied to business, there are fundamentals that still apply. There is no substitute for experience and perspective, coupled with strong networks. Businesses that thrive are, nine out of 10 times, those that work as a team with a good mixture of age (young and old), cultures, experience and personalities.

The November-December 2012 issue of DESTINY MAN and November issue of DESTINY, featuring 2012's Power of 40 Reports, will hit shelves on October 17. The annual Reports showcase individuals, under the age of 40, who are making waves in various industries, including fashion, science, education, film and entertainment.

Due to popular demand, the networking events have expanded from three events, one in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban, to a total of four to include Bloemfontein. The dates and venues for the four events are:
• Johannesburg on 10 October 2012 at Emoyeni Conference Centre in Parktown (complete);
• Durban on 17 October 2012 at the Oyster Box Hotel in Umhlanga;
• Bloemfontein on 31 October 2012 at the Protea Hotel in Willow Lake; and
• Cape Town on 7 November 2012 at the Pigalle Restaurant in Green Point.
