Lancet Global Health launches in JuneA new publication, Lancet Global Health launches in June 2013 to cover common conditions and wider health policy issues affecting low and middle-income countries. A special emphasis will be given to local, context-specific research with regional or global implications and the intention is for The Lancet Global Health to provide a voice for country based researchers to influence global debates. Published by The Lancet, the world's leading independent family of general medical and specialty journals, the journal demonstrates the company's ongoing commitment to strengthen global health. "Global health is a subject we are especially committed to," explains editor-in-chief, Richard Horton. "We want to publish the very best global health science to accelerate progress towards the MDGs and to shape the ongoing debate about priorities after 2015. The journal will give local research the global stage it deserves and, in the process, support our mission to deliver science for better health." Free accessAs a Gold Open Access (OA) journal, the author will retain the copyright for articles published by The Lancet Global Health. The Article Processing Charge (APC) will be waived for papers whose funders are located in low-income countries.
