Oceana must pay R35-million for fixing pricesBusiness Day says fishing group Oceana must pay R35-million to the Competition Commission in terms of a settlement agreement over price fixing for pelagic fish species including anchovies and pilchards. The Competition Tribunal found it had colluded with Foodcorp, Premier Fishing SA, Gansbaai Marine, Paternoster Visserye and Saldanha Foods to fix prices and not compete with each other.
