Valentine`s picnic concert at the Taalmonument

Red roses and dinner not romantic enough for your Valentine's Day? A special Valentines Day Picnic Concert is promised by Idols runner-up Gift Gwe, well-known Paarl singer Loren Erasmus and their friends, at the Afrikaanse Taalmonument in Paarl on Valentine's day, 14 February.

The show begins at 19:30 in the Garden Theatre - a smaller sibling of the well-known Paarl Amphitheatre, situated on the lawn right at the foot of the monument. Other artists include singer Tye Platinum and comedian Ashley Pienaar as MC. The 90 minute programme includes Afrikaans and English romantic ballads.

Visitors are welcome to bring their own picnic baskets or order a special Valentine's basket (R280 for two persons, sparkling wine included) from Volksmond Coffee Shop (tel. 021 863 2800). The Garden Theatre Picnic Concert Series is held in aid of the Taalmonument's Reading Project for the Youth.
Tickets at R60 per person are available at the gate or can be pre-bought from the Taalmonument. Tickets are limited. Bring along a blanket, warm clothes and a torch. Safe parking is available and access is controlled. No dogs or fires are allowed. The concert will be postponed if the weather is bad.
