Africa Bike Week 2013

The largest free motorcycle rally in Africa, took place from Friday 26 April to 29 April in Margate KwaZulu Natal attracting over 80 000 enthusiasts and visitors. Harley-Davidson also celebrated 110 years of rich history and as part of this iconic milestone, William J. "Bill" Davidson, Vice President of the official Harley-Davidson Museum in Milwaukee joined the celebrations.

The main highlight of this year's event was that Bill Davidson, the great grandson of Harley-Davidson co-founder, attended the event and visited South Africa for the first time. Bill Davidson and Mayor Cynthia Mqwebu of the Hibiscus Coast Municipality also opened and closed the event as well as led the mass ride on Sunday.

Even though the public holidays were not as kind this year, we saw a good year-on-year growth looking specifically at the mass ride figures 2013 - 3,242 (2012 - 2,670 and 2011 - 2,281).
