Marlboro licensing department offline

The computer systems at the Marlboro licensing and testing station in Johannesburg were offline on Tuesday, (8 January) according to the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD).

Chief Superintendent Wayne Minnaar said while the system failure would not affect driver and learner licence tests, motorists would not be able to register their vehicles at the station.

"Vehicle registration can be done at any of the other licensing and testing stations in Roodepoort, Midrand, Randburg or Langlaagte stations," he said.

He said technicians were working on fixing the system as soon as possible.
