South African motor trade sales rose by 11.1% year-on-year in November to R43.6bn after a revised 16.9% (16.2%) y/y increase in October‚ data released by Statistics SA on Thursday (17 January) showed.
The highest year-on-year growth rates for November were recorded for fuel sales (13.5%)‚ new vehicle sales (13.4%) and convenience store sales (10.4%).
Seasonally adjusted motor trade sales decreased by 1.9% month-on-month in November‚ following monthly changes of 7.5% in October and -0.2% in September.
Seasonally adjusted motor trade sales increased by 4.5% in the three months ended November compared with the previous three months last year.
