Radio Documentary Production

In a nutshell: This course teaches participants to produce sound-rich audio documentaries suitable for broadcast on the radio, delivered on the Internet, or through mobile media. Students study and employ the appropriate artistic aesthetic necessary for producing quality work in this genre. Each participant uses research, the techniques of interviewing, writing, editing, and audio production to create informative and educational documentaries.

Course outcomes: By the end of the course, trainees will be able to: *Cover the topic and investigate your subject matter effectively; *Learn what makes documentary original and appropriate to subject; *Focus on story facts and learn how to weave it into the theme; *Learn how to produce scripted and 'non scripted' documentaries; *Ensure that your documentary has a clear progression, beginning, middle and end; *Tricks to ensure that your documentary is fresh and engaging to an audience; *Understand the importance of facts and ethical reporting
