The newspaper belongs to Times Media, the same company which owns The Herald.

YCL provincial secretary Mluleki Dlelanga yesterday said they were "not ready to divulge what the issues were".

The planned march was contained in a media statement issued by YCLSA provincial spokesperson Thabang Maseko on Monday following its provincial executive committee's plenary session last weekend.

It is one of four programmes the youth wing was set to tackle before the end of the year. The planned protest comes a month after the Gauteng ANC Youth League marched to the Johannesburg offices of the Mail & Guardian.

In their memorandum, the ANC youth wing accused the newspaper of being "one of the media houses which have become a willing propagandist of a counter-revolution against the ANC".

Responding to the planned YCL march, Daily Dispatch editor-in-chief Bongani Siqoko said everyone was welcome to express his or her views.

"We may not agree with their decision to march against us but we must defend their right to march nonetheless. This is a right entrenched in our constitution," he said.
