Cape Town's hottest event - The L'Ormarins Queen's Plate

Cape Town's social scene was awakened with one of the most prestigious annual horse racing events, the L'Ormarins Queen's Plate, Kenilworth race course which was transformed into a setting where fashion, vintage cars, fine wine, food and the country's finest thoroughbreds took centre stage.

This event proved to be the city's biggest fashion events summer had to offer. Ladies and gentlemen were dressed in their most elegant attire compliant with the dress code of blue and white. Some of the country's finest A-listers attended as guests such as Minki Visser, Michelle McLean, Jeanne D, Jo-Ann Strauss, to only name a few - all flaunting their stylish outfits fitting with the day's colour theme. Top sportsmen Graeme Smith, Bryan Habana and Schalk Burger also joined in on the fun.

Car enthusiasts could view a host of beautiful, classic vintage cars, which were on display throughout the day. And if that was not enough, guests were also treated with a star studded entertainment line-up featuring local rock stars Louise Carver and Arno Carstens, jazzy house gurus Goldfish and local DJs such as Shaun Duvet. After the day's main activities the after party was the place to be to celebrate a great day at the races.

Funds raised from various endeavours during the day will be donated to The Grooms School Trust and The Cart-Horse Protection Association.
