City Sightseeing's 3 for 1 Kids Special still running

City Sightseeing, which runs the red double-decker open-topped sightseeing buses, has a special offer, which started on 1 May 2014. Buy one adult ticket for the bus or boat and get two kids tickets for free.

On 1 May, City Sightseeing opened its 3 for 1 Kids Special in which, at weekends, public and school holidays, two kids under the age of 18 can travel for free on the City Sightseeing bus or Canal Cruise boat with any full-paying adult. Tickets can be bought online at a further discounted price of R130, or at the full price of R170 at the Tour Office or on the bus.

Running until the end of October, the City Sightseeing 3 for 1 Kids Special covers special days such as Mother's Day, Father's Day, Youth Day, Women's Day, Heritage Day, the June/July school holidays as well as the September holidays.

Online ticket prices frozen

City Sightseeing will also be implementing a national price freeze on the online ticket prices for all adult Red City and Blue Mini Peninsula bus tours. The 1-Day ticket price is R130 per adult when bought online and the 2-Day ticket is R230 per adult when bought online.

"We have noticed that, increasingly, people are booking and paying for their travel experiences online, and for this reason we will be launching this special - which offers tickets for the bus tours at 2011 levels when purchased online," said Claus Tworeck, CEO of City Sightseeing South Africa.

You can choose to start your Cape Town experience with the Red City Tour, which is the best way to get to Table Mountain. Best of all is that the City Sightseeing 3 for 1 Kids Special runs at the same time as Table Mountain's Kidz Season special, which also offers a two kids free with any paying adult deal - so you can hop onto the Red City Tour, hop off at Table Mountain, and make use of both special deals for an amazing family day out.

Alternatively, experience the scenic Blue Mini Peninsula Tour, which takes you beyond the city limits. Whilst on the Blue Mini Peninsula Tour be sure to try the Imizamo Yethu township experience. This additional walking tour, which costs R65 (fee goes to the tour guides themselves), takes you into this energetic township for a glimpse of its vibrant people, eateries, shops and more.

Canal Cruise

Another fun activity is the City Sightseeing Canal Cruise, which offers a great nautical adventure for the entire family for R40 per adult and R20 per child - and the Kids 3 for 1 Special applies here too. The Canal Cruise boat, which runs every 30 minutes from 9am to 5pm, has a canopy to keep you dry should it rain and you can also enjoy an on-board commentary in 16 languages telling you the story of our marine history. Tickets for the Canal Cruise can be purchased at the Tour Office outside the Two Oceans Aquarium, online, or as you hop on the Canal Cruise boat at the jetty behind the One & Only hotel.

"It is a growing global trend that people are becoming 'experience hungry' and seeking out interactive, exciting and memorable destinations and experiences - rather than merely being passive spectators. The City Sightseeing bus tours offer the perfect interactive, fun and memorable outing that the entire family will love," concluded Tworeck.
