So... whinging aside, was Loeries a success?

The dust has settled over Margate as the circus tent is packed away, Loeries having flown the coop for another year. But the feathers are still flying as debate gathers momentum on whether the new judging format and the radical move to Margate was a success. There's a lot of griping about loos and seating, but let's not forget the big picture vision for The Loerie Awards and the intention behind the new judging and move to Margate.

Next time you pack your bucket and spade for Margate, leave your attitude at home, relax and have a jol. That's the message from the locals who were confronted by a few individuals with ego issues, using language your client would never approve in an ad and with a swaggering: "Do You Know Who I Am?!"

Net#work out punches its weight

Only three agencies dominated the Loeries this year, but it was the 'David' among the two 'Goliaths' that walked off with the only Grand Prix to be dished out in the television and cinema category. Overall, medium sized agency Net#work BBDO achieved the second largest number of awards across the broadest spectrum of clients (over 75%) and media disciplines. The agency also won significantly more awards to its revenue ratio and size than any of its competitors.
