As a business data analyst, you will be responsible for turning raw data into actionable insights and crafting compelling data stories. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring that data-driven insights are at the forefront of the company’s strategic initiatives.

Key responsibilities:

• Perform in-depth analysis of large and complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can influence business strategies.
• Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI.
• Leverage Power BI to visualise data in a way that is both accessible and useful for non-technical stakeholders.
• Craft compelling data narratives and visual stories that effectively communicate key insights and business implications to stakeholders.
• Present complex data and analyses in a clear and concise manner, using data visualisations to tell the story behind the numbers.
• Develop and implement data governance policies and procedures to maintain high standards of data quality and compliance.

Qualifications and experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in data science, business analytics, computer science, information technology, or a related field.
• Master’s degree is a plus.
• Experience with data warehousing and ETL processes.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud for data storage and analysis.
• Certification in Power BI, data analytics, or related fields is a plus.
• Engage with senior management and other key stakeholders to provide regular updates, reports, and insights that drive decision-making.

The reference number for this position is NG59684, which is a contract, hybrid position based in Johannesburg, offering from R500 up to R700 per hour, negotiable based on experience and ability.
