DTP Art Director

• Working to a design brief from the client or designer
• Using DTP software (Adobe Suite, especially InDesign) to produce a layout for each page of the publication
• Using internal systems like workbook to action briefs, communication, and timesheets
• Using RMS to fully complete all DTP work, ensuring no manual changes unless communicated and flagged
• Meeting required deadlines with tight turnarounds
• Fully understanding and adhering to DTP processes for communication, circulation, FA checks, and disking
• Understanding the full FA checklist and ensuring adherence at all times
• Selecting formatting, such as size, style of type, column width, and spacing
• Selecting and checking colours
• Paying excellent attention to detail

• Two or more years of experience in DTP art direction
• Experience working in a live retail environment would be advantageous
• Understanding of pressure and deadlines

• Attention to detail: careful about details and thorough in completing work tasks
• Excellent communication and organisational skills

• Diploma in art direction (highly advantageous but not essential)
• Relevant Adobe software knowledge
• Familiarity with Mac systems
