We are seeking a highly organised and proactive assistant who will have a strong eye for detail, excellent time management skills, and a willingness to learn. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to build a career in accounting and gain hands-on experience in a professional setting.
Key responsibilities:
- Assist with daily accounting tasks, including data entry, invoicing, and recons
- Prepare and maintain spreadsheets
- Assist in the preparation of monthly and annual financial reports
- Provide administrative support including scheduling meetings and maintaining filing systems
- Communicate with clients
- Perform other related tasks as required
- You may be required to travel to clients
- Matric with accounting as a subject (minimum)
- A bookkeeping diploma or currently studying towards one will be accepted
- Prior experience in bookkeeping or a related field is a plus, but not required
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365
- Familiarity with cloud accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) is required
- Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- A positive attitude and a willingness to learn and grow within the company
- Ability to multi-task and work with a diverse range of clients
