A look at live marketing workshops for entrepreneurs

Spottmedia recently conducted their first free live Marketing Workshop for Entrepreneurs over a period of 4-5 days and found it to be cost efficient, effective, and convenient.

Rucien Petersen, founder of Spottmedia, conducted the online workshop and shared four marketing pillars (Objectives, Target Audience, Marketing Tactics, Implementation/Evaluation) every entrepreneur should implement when it comes to their marketing strategies when building a brand.

According to Petersen, “A solid foundation is so important when it comes to marketing and we found that many entrepreneurs do not understand these pillars - making it difficult for them to achieve marketing success for their business”.

Since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, businesses had to change the way they operate and do business. At Spottmedia, we adjusted our strategy by launching our LIVE Marketing Workshop for Entrepreneurs on Facebook.

Petersen shares a few insights to the experience and looks at how to adjust

  • Real Time
  • Live streaming means recording and broadcasting in real-time. While conducting the workshop, we were able to answer direct questions from entrepreneurs who tuned in. So, if our viewers missed something or needed some more clarity on a topic we could answer them immediately.

As a business owner, it’s important to also look into live streaming and work it into your marketing strategy. Live streaming gives you a chance to give personality to your brand. Your clients get a chance to get to know you and learn more about your business from you instead of on a blog page or post on social media.

  • Convenience

The live function on Instagram, Youtube and Facebook allow you to go live without any hassles. It’s a simple plug in and play feature available to you as an entrepreneur and for your business. Even better, you can use your mobile device to go live.

  • Cost Efficient

Most mobile devices have high definition cameras so you do not need expensive equipment to go live. All you need is a tripod stand for your phone to make sure it's stable and a good internet connection. Also, whether you are setting up in your lounge, bedroom or office, make sure you have sufficient and natural lighting coming through when you are going live.

  • Engagement

Engagement from participants is an indication of how various relatable topics need to be discussed from time to time. Feedback from participants will also give you a show of interest and topics for future workshops.

There are many ways in which you can incorporate live streaming for your brand. For example, if you own a fitness studio, you can do live stream sessions showcasing workouts to do in the comfort of customers' homes. You can provide further information relating to specific exercises. One advantage of live streams is that you are able to view who is tuned in and you can then engage by asking and responding to questions.

Overall, live streaming adds versatility to your marketing, and it shows your clients that you are forward-thinking, innovative and that you’re willing to go – above and beyond – to build a relationship with them, understand them and also meet their needs.

No one really knows for sure what will happen once the pandemic ends, but one sure thing is that businesses need to rethink the way they do business to prepare themselves for the future.
