MTV video jockey search arrives in Durban, Cape Town

Still in search of the new VJ (video jockey or TV presenter) for the youth entertainment channel, MTV Base, talent scouts will hold auditions in Cape Town and Durban this weekend, 14 July 2012 from 9am. Two finalists from each city will go forward to the finals.

The search is open to South Africans aged between 18-25, who speak fluent English and who have a clean criminal record. Prior presenting or TV experience is not required. Applicants must be available to participate in the elimination phases of the competition 24-28 July 2012.

Durban

Veteran MTV Base VJ Sizwe Dhlomo will be joining hip hop trio and MTV Base favourites K.O, Ma-E and Ntukza aka Teargas on Saturday 14 July at the Gateway Theatre of Shopping for the first round of auditions in the 2012 talent contest.

Cape Town

In Cape Town, hip hop artist, JR, will be on hand at the auditions to mingle with the crowd and give them encouragement at the Cape Gate Shopping Precinct.

Highlights and funny moments from the auditions will feature on the weekly TV series, which premieres on MTV Base (DStv Channel 322) on Tuesday 7 August 2012 at 8.30pm and on e.tv on Saturday 11 August at 6.05pm.
