Job description

Constantia based Chardonnay Deli, and Kalk Bay-based Dalebrook Café requires an accountant to cover both separate entities. The position will be a mix of home-based and in-office at both locations. The position will be part-time, self-managed two or three days a week. Applicants need to have a good background in finance up to preparing financials. The position will also manage two accounts clerks, one in each location. The position has scope to increase to a third  location, at which time the remuneration would be increased accordingly.

Duties and responsibilities (amongst others)

Annually

Financial statements:

Preparation of file/supporting docs for annual financial statements per year to be sent to CA for sign off. As well as all comms/deal with queries from CA.

Annual administrative duties:

Submission of CIPC annual return including CIPC fee.

Taxation duties:
  • Submission of 1st Provisional taxation return per year
  • Submission of 2nd Provisional taxation return per year
  • Submission of 3rd Provisional taxation return per year (if required)
  • Submission of annual tax return per year. To be prepared by CA
Monthly

Payroll duties:
  • Monthly salary run (based on clerks prepared schedules/workings)
  • PAYE calculation, submission of EMP201 and payment follow up/reminders
  • Annual WCA submission (per annum) including a request for Letter of Good Standing
  • Annual IRP5 tax certificates and EMP501
  • Bi-Annual EMP501 declaration
Bookkeeping duties:
  • Review of account clerks prepared processing, supplier reconciliations, monthly journals,
  • Weekly feedback to admin staff and preparation of monthly management accounts.
  • Management accounts due by 10th each month
  • Monthly financial results and analysis meeting
  • VAT return and submission (bi-monthly), payment reminders

Requirements

  • Qualification in finance
  • Experience with preparing financial statements
  • Experience with Pastel is vital
  • Payroll experience
  • Experience in the hospitality industry would be advantageous
