Countdown to 2011 PRISA National Conference

There are just under two weeks left to register for the 2011 PRISA National Conference, hosted by the Public Relations Institute of Southern Africa (PRISA) at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre in Durban, 13-14 June 2011. The theme is "Climate of Change: Public Relations & The Environment".
Countdown to 2011 PRISA National Conference

The conference will touch on the communication challenges and opportunities related to environmental sustainability and CSI, while at the same time exploring the latest trends in media relations, technology, social media, measurement and evaluation and more.

A celebration gala dinner will include inauguration of the new PRISA president and presentation of the PRISA Gold Medal for Outstanding Public Relations for South Africa. This award has been bestowed on deserving recipients only nine times since PRISA's establishment in 1957.

  • Jimmy Manyi, CEO of Government Communication & Information Services (GCIS) and government spokesperson
  • Prof Ronel Rensburg, University of Pretoria
  • Prof Anne Gregory, director, Centre for Public Relations Studies at Leeds Metropolitan University in the UK
  • Estelle de Beer, University of Pretoria
  • Reana Rossouw, founding director of Next Generation Consultants
  • Shaka Sisulu, founding CEO of iKGB media information services, former CEO of Monitoring SA and COO of ITEC Telecoms
  • Kevin Welman, MD of Fleishman-Hillard South Africa
  • Mary Papayya, AVUSA Media KZN regional GM and former outgoing South African National Editors Forum (SANEF) deputy chairperson
  • Wendy Tlou, executive director of Meropa Communications and former global manager: communications at SA Tourism
