ABF Crazy Golf Day - Zombie fourball bookings now open
The ABF is due to host one of their bigger fundraising events - The Crazy Golf Day - on the 12th November at Kyalami Golf Course.
"The Crazy Golf day is one of the biggest golf days that the ABF hosts," says Sharlene Vallance of the ABF. "It's almost an institution that has been happening for about 23 years. Each year a theme is chosen for the golf day which encourages participants to dress up and allows hole sponsors to decorate their areas accordingly."
This year the theme is Zombies which are very fashionable at the moment. The best spirited fourball walks away with the famous 'purple' trophy.
"It is well known that the best hole sponsor gets the time honoured floating trophy to display for a year. We have had very close competitions for it in the past," she says.
Fourballs cost R2800 which includes green fees, dinner and prize-giving.
According to Vallance, there are several sponsorship opportunities available, and as always individual hole sponsors are required. There is no fee to sponsor a hole, the company simply has to adhere to the theme and the rules of the game. This year preference will be given to those who take hole sponsorships when confirming their fourball bookings.
The ABF is appealing for the sponsorship of a band to play after prize-giving. "A sponsorship of R8000 is required to secure a good band," says Sharlene.
