MTN Radio Awards 2012: Heart 104.9 FM celebrates their sixth birthday with six award nominations!

Heart 104.9FM, Cape Town's beat received a record six nominations for the MTN Radio Awards 2012. In the national station categories, Heart 104.9FM takes nomination for Programme Innovation Award, Mel Jones takes nominee for the Programme Concept Award, Saskia Falken host of the Mid-Morning Mix was selected for Daytime Presenter Award, Paul Playdon for the Music Presenter Award and Tapfuma Makina for the Sport Show category.
According to Rich Mkhondo, MTN Radio Awards Chairman, he mentions, "The overall standard of entries in the MTN Radio Awards has improved significantly." He continues, "Feedback from the adjudicators has been extremely positive and it appears that there is a general improvement in the overall standard of radio programming and output. With our commitment to radio and with the importance that Radio plays in our overall media mix, this is truly Ayoba."

Gavin Meiring, the station's manager mentions, "Heart 104.9FM is very excited with these nominations, as it reflects the creativity and passion that we as a radio station have been recognised for in the Radio Industry."
