Do you have what it takes to win the ABF lawn bowls fundraiser?
The ABF will host its inaugural lawn bowls fundraiser at the Morningside Country Club on the 22 October 2010. Media agencies and owners are challenged to brave the unknown, take the plunge and either strut their stuff or try something new, all in aid of an extremely worthwhile cause.
Whilst rumour has it that lawn bowls is the current agency rage, the ABF has set out to see just how true this is and how good they really are!
"As a beer festival has been planned by the Morningside Country Club for the day after the bowls fundraiser, the existing infrastructure will add to festivities of the ABF event," says Sharlene Vallance, Vice President of the ABF. All participants will receive a beer mug and free entry to the beer festival the next day.
For a cost of only R1500 per team of three players, companies can dig deep into their budget to enter as many teams as they like. The cost includes the hire of bowls and expert advice from resident coaches, spot prizes, and a chicken or veggie burger with a side salad.
Party revellers may come for dinner afterwards at a cost of R25 per person.
"Lawn bowls is a great game of skill and we certainly hope to see the agencies whip out their competitive spirit," says Dave Pringle from Morningside Country Club.
"As the event is being held on a Friday, we anticipate a great afternoon of camaraderie and cheer, coupled with some great music and networking opportunities after the event," adds Vallance.

The 41-year-old charitable fund provides vital crisis support to individuals in the advertising, marketing and media industries who have fallen on hard times. In providing a support structure, the ABF helps those who cannot support themselves due to retrenchments, redundancies, injuries or illness.
