Heart FM listeners and fans treated to 12 hours of non-stop entertainment

Newlands Cricket Stadium was a true celebration of South Africa on Saturday, 9 February 2019, where the annual Heart Cape Town Music Festival took place for its second consecutive year. Tickets sold out within six weeks and over 10,000 people were treated to 12 hours of uninterrupted entertainment from some of South Africa's biggest acts. Recognised on the City of Cape Town's official Events Calendar, this music festival offers one of the most inclusive line-ups of artists on one stage, on one day - a true reflection of Cape Town and its diverse demographic.
The energetic crowd was treated to exhilarating performances by over 20 acts which included the likes of AKA, Blackties, Bobby Van Jaarsveld, Craig Lucas, Dr Victor & the Rasta Rebels, Early B, Emo Adams, Freshly Ground, Goodluck, Jimmy Nevis, Mango Groove, Micasa, Robin Pieters, Shekinah and Youngsta CPT.

In-line with its dedication to supporting new and emerging talent, the station invited Grand West Open Mic Jazz winner, Lauren Hendricks and Summer Star winner, Safwaan Goolam to make their stage debut, which Hendricks described as a “once in a lifetime” opportunity and a “dream come true”.

Managing Director, Renee Redelinghuys comments, “As Cape Town’s biggest station, we love providing the opportunity for our listeners to experience world-class live music at iconic Cape Town venues such as PPC Newlands Stadium.”

Redelinghuys concludes,” We (Heart FM) believe that this music festival is not only a platform to connect with our listeners, but to bring together Capetonians of all ages to interact with on-air personalities and an abundance of local talent; all on one day.”
