The Thebe Exhibitions and Events Group scored another hat trick at the annual awards ceremony of the Exhibition and Event Association of Southern Africa (EXSA) held in Johannesburg last week, walking away with no less than three awards.
For the fifth year in a row Decorex Cape won the award for the best trade and consumer exhibition in the category 6 000 to 12 000 m², while the Coca-Cola dome, managed by the group, was a joint winner in the best exhibition venue category.
Managing director Carol Weaving was awarded in her personal capacity for making the most valued contribution to the exhibition industry this year.
Weaving says the awards not only serve as a motivator to continuously monitor, maintain and improve service levels to clients, but also as an incentive to help build professionalism in the industry as a whole.
“Today the Thebe Exhibitions and Events Group is recognised as an industry leader across the continent and awards such as these serve as a reminder that the job one does actually helps build and set standards in the industry. We are extremely proud of our entire team for continuing to push boundaries and set benchmarks.
“We thank all our partners, including venues and service providers, for their continued support and consistently high service levels that assist us to stage exhibitions and events of the highest calibre.”
Thebe Exhibitions and Events owns some fifteen major South African exhibitions and is the appointed management company for Meetings Africa, the annual business tourism exhibition owned by South African Tourism.
Weaving is a past chairman of EXSA.
