Decorex Jhb is the ultimate launching pad for a spectacular takeoff of new products and a proud showcase for homegrown design of international standing. Some of the exciting initiatives at this year's show are:

Colour on the horizon: The highly awaited Plascon Colour Forecast for 2007 will be unveiled at the show. This captivating collection of new Plascon colours celebrates discovery and a feast of life experiences. Also launching at Decorex Jhb is the 2007 edition of Colour, Plascon's annual trendsetting magazine devoted to all things colour.

Milan to Mpumalanga: High design, outsider art and sparkling wine - this heady blend of styles come together at the two Villiera Cap Classique Bars at the show. Creative guru Josef Greeff pays homage to outsider artist Nukain Mabusa and his captivating stone garden in Revolver Creek, Mpumalanga, while Euro Casa goes contemporary in true Milan fashion.

Decorators do it au natural: Members of the South African Guild of Interior Designers look to nature for inspiration. Organic objects and materials make their way home in breathtaking roomscapes while simplicity and embellishment live in harmony.

In Dream Rooms - a new addition to Decorex Jhb - Stephen Falcke, internationally acclaimed interior design guru, shows his passion for panache with an exuberant mix of objects, art and one of a kind finds.

On the Lighter Side: The annual Sanlam Young South Africans Thinking Ahead competition puts lighting design in the spotlight, getting young design students to glow. Sanlam, VISI and the 2006 Luminaire Design Competition, run by Regent Lighting and Osram, challenge budding designers to swing from the chandeliers.

Designer DIY: Annemarie Meintjes, flamboyant diva of quick chic, will host 'Make Your Own Chandelier Workshop' with paper in her toolbox.

Decorex Limited: Decorex's exclusive range of fabulous décor items for the home sports the season's hottest new look - white on white - with accessories by The Design Team and Pepper Plum.
Asian Pavilion: Cultural influences from South East Asia meet up in design as we open our homes to the world. The look even has a name - 'the exotic traveller'. Exhibitors from far flung places such as Malaysia and Indonesia will introduce their wares to trade visitors.

Black is beautiful: Juliet Cullinan Wines brings the perfect blend to the Kitchen and Bathroom Hall with black chefs and black wine makers strutting their stuff.

Open Studio: The Decorex/Kizo Art Awareness Programme goes racy with Richard Scott, the non-conformist contemporary artist. Scott's solo exhibition - a series of sport car paintings - is held in association with Kizo Arts Consultants and Aston Martin.

One of a Kind: "Hand-made in a machine age! Homing trends have strongly shifted to natural materials, high-quality craftsmanship, individual-looking objects and treasured one of a kind pieces," says Melanie Robinson, director Decorex SA. "Decorex Jhb showcases 100% homegrown design of international standing with pride. Local crafters have proven themselves in the international arena, including outlets like the Conran Shop. We are delighted to once again host One of a Kind, South Africa's leading individually crafted and contemporary applied arts trade show alongside Decorex Jhb."

The One of a Kind trade show is a partnership initiative between the Department of Trade and Industry (the dti), Tourism Enterprise Programme (TEP), Johannesburg Tourism Company and Decorex Jhb.
