Buyers, investors and agents are turning to the Sunday Tribune's Property Guide for more than the hottest property deals in KwaZulu-Natal's buoyant market.

"Within the newspaper environment, readers are looking for advice and news in addition to our usual, bulky package of what's on offer," says Sunday Tribune Editor, Alan Dunn. "With this in mind we've added value, appointing respected property journalist, Rodney Hayter, as Property Editor."
Hayter has already added a new dimension to the Property Guide which is regularly more than 100 pages in its tabloid format. "Buying a home is often the most important investment a person can make," says Hayter. "In the current market, where prices are so much higher than a few years ago, and with new areas and developments opening up at the rate they are, readers are crying out for news from the market."
The inclusion of editorial articles gives developers and agents the opportunity to let readers know about upcoming projects. Readers can also keep up to date on topical issues related to buying and selling, as well as where prices are going.
"I often refer to articles in the Guide in discussions with clients," says Remax agent, JJ Basson. "It's useful for clients to understand the market conditions we're currently going through, and it captures that well."
Hayter was a finance sub-editor on The Mercury in the 1980s before leaving to specialise in residential property writing. He spent several years in Johannesburg where he launched the real estate industry's first national print newsletter and more recently, its first electronic newsletter.
Hayter operates his own property news website and was also news editor of the Property Professional magazine and media liaison officer for the PA group.
The Tribune's Property Guide is KwaZulu-Natal's market leader with 114 000 copies distributed with the Sunday Tribune in KZN and Gauteng each week, with additional copies placed on newsstands in major estate agents.
