The roadshow is aimed at generating excitement and engaging ordinary South Africans by taking their much-loved celebrities directly to them. The first leg of the eKasi Tour kicked off in Durban and Zinto then joined up with e.tv for the second leg in Bloemfontein.
The cast members from e.tv's drama series Rhythm City
, the presenters of Craze
and Club 808
, as well as reality star Kelly Khumalo, spent the day at the Clover Mama Africa project, where e.tv contributed R10 000 towards the daycare centre and sponsored gardening tools for the upkeep of their vegetable garden. The non-governmental organisation, Gift of the Givers, which was involved in this leg of the eKasi Tour, donated food parcels and blankets. The children were then treated to a music and dance production by Zinto's talented performers.
The troupe then headed to Cubana for a club activation and an evening of entertainment and live music with Club 808's resident DJ, Mo Flava, and DJ Leo Large on the decks.
The next day fans were invited to join the star-studded crew at the Bloem Plaza for autograph and photograph opportunities followed by a shisa nyama
at the Mahungra Car Wash. These meet and greet sessions are aimed at thanking e.tv's viewers for their on-going support.
With plenty of giveaways and great audience participation, the campaign achieved its goal of creating hype, drawing attention to the e.tv brand and engaging and interacting with their audience.
The roadshow is headed to Mpumalanga next and fans can catch their favourite personalities in action at the Cappello in Nelspruit on Friday 30 November 2012 and on Saturday 1 December 2012 at Nelspruit Plaza and Endumbeni shisa nyama.
