The local line-up features the best in SA hip-hop, and this week 'Project Maboneng' announced that international rapper and headliner, Ace Hood, will perform to a crowd of over 5,000 expectant fans.

Hip-hop artist, entrepreneur and concert organiser, George Avakian, said in a statement: "We are so excited to launch the next phase of the inner-city development with a mass celebration of this kind. We hope to attract even more people to come experience the vibrancy of the precinct for themselves, and what better way to do it than with a street festival?"

As Zinto creates excitement via the performing arts, Avakian has worked with the experiential marketing agency on various entertainment platforms including live concerts and performances.

Michelle Combrinck, CEO and founder of Zinto, says, "Our clients have found that music festivals are an excellent way to position their brands in the hearts and minds of youthful and open-minded South Africans. It is an extremely powerful platform for those interested in reaching the youth market in South Africa, by ensuring audiences' lifestyles are aligned to our clients' brands, and continuously inspire and entertain them."

To this end the agency will coordinate and manage the portable staging complete with professional sound and lighting production and LED screens as well as the VIP area to take this street party to the next level and enhance the experience.

With what seems to be one of the most exciting developments in downtown Johannesburg over the past few years, the Maboneng Precinct has clearly made an impression in the hearts of young people, attracting all ages, races and ethnic groups to its streets.

The street-themed festival hopes to attract a mixed crowd, further encouraging and supporting the development and infrastructure of the Maboneng Precinct and the inner city as a whole.

Doors open at midday and the 12-hour street festival experience will cost R325 per person. A convenient 'Park & Ride' service will be available to and from the Ellis Park stadium and is included in the ticket price. Tickets are on sale at TicketPro:
