Introducing THAT ART FAIR, Cape Town's new landmark art event taking place alongside Design Indaba and Cape Town Art Fair. This inspired, curated and affordable event is a platform for African artists who work under the radar of the traditional art establishment and who do things a little differently.
As an initiative of ARTsouthAFRICA, THAT ART FAIR is committed to fostering a spirit of creativity, sustainability and positive change in the contemporary African art world.
Featuring photography, film, urban art, performance art, painting, Future Masters, comic art, Bright Young Things, THAT ART PARTY, The ART SuperMART and much more. THAT ART FAIR celebrates emerging, independent and established artistic talent and fringe arts.
THAT ART FAIR is a dynamic alternative to the traditional art fair model. Situated in the PALS Parkade, Salt River, on the edge of the Woodstock creative district, the urban location presents artists' work in an affordable, accessible and unintimidating environment.
THAT ART FAIR is now open for submissions and proposals. We encourage galleries, independent artists, designers and illustrators, publishers, filmmakers, performance artists, photographers, musicians and virtually any kind of innovative creative enterprise or collective to apply.

THAT ART FAIR is an initiative of ARTsouthAFRICA magazine, a leading African contemporary arts magazine based in Cape Town, South Africa. Founded and published by Brendon and Suzette Bell- Roberts and now in it's 14th year, the publication is dedicated to transformation, growing networks and creating opportunities for young artistic talent in the contemporary African art world.
ABOUT THE ORGANISERS:
For the past twenty years Brendon has been designing, curating and publishing. With more than 100 major publications and exhibitions under his belt, he has helped launch the careers of many of South Africa's top artists and creatives. Together with his wife Suzette he is the founder and publisher of ARTsouthAFRICA magazine, which has evolved into a digital platform in keeping with his focus on the role of creativity, sustainability and positive change in the African digital revolution. Brendon is also co-founder of the Sustain our Africa summit, expo and festival and the Change Agent Communications Consultancy. His projects combine creativity, sustainability and positive change, helping to define the future Africa.
After completing a BA LLB at the University of Stellenbosch, Suzette practiced law for a number of years. Together with husband Brendon, they co-founded the cutting edge Bell-Roberts Gallery in 1999 and launched ARTsouthAFRICA magazine 3 years later. An unfaltering commitment to the promotion of the contemporary arts, and a particular focus on art from Africa, now culminates in the launch of THAT ART FAIR. Suzette is currently working towards a Master's degree in Intellectual Property Law, with a focus on the visual arts.
