New Careers24.com ad campaign asks the awkward question
Careers24 has gone live with a humorous new advertising campaign developed by Ogilvy & Mather (O&M) Cape Town that focuses on the awkward moment after one is asked - "What is it you do for a living?"
The campaign was rolled out across television, radio, billboard and online and stems from the insight that what we do for a living is such a vital part of our lives that our jobs are tied to society's perception of our worth.
"In a way, our jobs define who we are," commented Nadia Boucher Coombe, Head of Marketing for Careers24: "So getting the right job is crucial. Which is where Careers24 steps in and promises thousands of quality positions. Online. On-the-go. 24/7."
Chief Creative Officer of O&M South Africa, Chris Gotz, explains how the ad campaign tells a story many of us are familiar with, when one is caught off-guard when asked about what they do for a living and end up blurting out an extremely bizarre occupation instead. Like a Leather Chair man Chairman or an Ear Otolarynmonolollogist. He added, "it's not often you are able to put a humorous spin on a real-world problem that people can relate to - which is what we think we have done here."
