Job description

Springnest makes it easy and affordable for tourism and hospitality businesses to launch and manage beautiful, feature-rich websites and digital marketing content.

Springnest websites include domain registration and email hosting, which forms an integral link in our customers’ communication chain.

We are looking for a technical support agent to join our team, and to be part of our journey as we evolve the way that our current and future clients enjoy and benefit from our product.

About the position and working environment


As a technical support agent, your day-to-day work will include:
  • Resolving customer support queries in a considerate and timely manner. This includes answering email queries, assisting clients via live chat or on the phone
  • Referring users to relevant tutorials and guides in the Springnest Help Centre
  • Assisting in building out the Springnest Help Centre, based on support trends and queries
  • Assisting with administrative tasks
  • Adding HTML snippets to users’ websites
  • Transferring users’ domains to and from Springnest
  • Helping users set up new email addresses for their businesses
  • Helping users set up Microsoft Outlook on their computers
About working as part of our Distributed Team

The Springnest team is based in Cape Town, South Africa, though we don’t have a fixed office space. We work from home, from coffee shops, and sometimes from hotel rooms. As a Springnest team member, you will have the freedom to work from a location where you feel comfortable and productive. We do have a couple of requirements to ensure that we function well as a team, and that clients are happy and attended to.

Requirements


As a technical support agent you:
  • Have a passion for helping others solve problems
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Have the discipline to work remotely (this comes with the freedom of working anywhere in South Africa)
  • Are comfortable with online apps and business tools. You'll be working in a variety of these (Slack, team inbox, CRM) as part of your daily workflow
  • Understand how a strong online presence influences the success of a business
  • Are not afraid to ask questions when you feel unsure or in over your head
  • Have at least one year’s experience in a small business IT support role
  • Know your way around setting up email clients to use POP, IMAP, or SMTP
  • Have passed matric
