Job description

The ideal candidate will have an energetic and outgoing personality and relish in the opportunity to build a friendly community where students feel safe, welcome and “at home” and enjoy a favourable living environment that fosters a positive outcome for all.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Day to day management of the facility comprising approximately 130 beds.
  • Manage the entire student letting cycle to include some marketing activities, scheduling of availability, viewings, check-in and out, inspections, agreements, rent and arrears management.
  • Building management and maintenance.
  • Overseeing all aspects of security on the premises and making sure that the various security measures are meticulously maintained – including the guarding.
  • Overseeing hospitality and customer service functions, particularly with regards to new intakes.
  • General building management to include relationship building with all service providers, as well as local community – police, fire, ambulance and supporting partners, e.g. Stellenbosch University.
  • Ensure best practice at all times when handling student complaints, parents, bursars, suppliers etc.
  • To continually drive innovative policies in terms of operational, economic and administrative matters. Recommend and update the house-rules and operational procedures.
  • Produce periodic reports and recommendations as agreed by the board.
*  Working hours to be discussed - generally 8am to 5pm Monday - Friday - however certain times of year require additional hours and weekends


  • Experience in dealing with students is highly desirable.
  • Excellent computer literacy.
  • Financial literacy and understanding of credit control.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Afrikaans.
  • Minimum of five years of administrative experience.
  • Includes on-site accommodation in a luxury two-bedroom apartment.
