Job description

Job responsibilities will include, but would not be limited to:
  • Ensuring that HR contributions and practices are aligned with HR & business strategy
  • Assisting the business to plan and implement regular performance management feedback
  • Facilitating poor performance management
  • Making appropriate use of management reports to provide relevant information on a monthly basis
  • Providing guidance and advice on application, interpretation of policies & procedures with due regard for consistency fairness and equity as well as flexibility
  • Assist line managers to understand and implement company policies and procedures
  • Coordinate the resolution of specific policy-related and procedural problems and inquiries
  • Active involvement in the company by attending manufacturing and occupational health & safety meetings and interaction with personnel on all levels
  • Raise employees Exit timeously and manage all related administration
  • Conduct exit interviews for employees leaving the organization and report on findings.
  • Leave management through VIP in co-operation with payroll    
  • Monthly leave administration, reporting and management
  • Manage change in employees status timeously on HR system
  • Update employee administration, data and information continuously
  • Facilitating, guidance and advice on disciplinary and grievance matters
  • Dealing with Industrial Relations externally specifically with reference to CCMA and CDR disputes
  • Oversee the recruitment and placement process and ensure that the relevant administrative process is being followed and all relevant documents fully completed and signed
  • Focusing on creating a talent pool will be one of the big priorities. *BTL Agency experience is a must to understanding the organizations requirements in finding the right resource across departments* 
  • Developing and drafting job descriptions where necessary
  • Assist with the implementation of training courses as well as the updating of relevant administration
  • Managing daily personnel queries
  • Oversee the Equity and Skills Development committee and keep updated records of members and minutes of meetings
  • Oversee the personnel induction program
  • Facilitate effective communication between the company and personnel
  • Update company policies and procedures when changes occur and ensure communication
  • Managing and assisting personnel with UIF and Workman compensation queries and administration

Requirements

The ideal candidate must meet the above criteria and possess the following characteristics and attributes:
  • Matric
  • Tertiary Qualification: Degree in HR and or recruitment (if HR you must be able to recruit and visa versa) 
  • Impeccable administration abilities
  • A minimum of three years in a management role and/or the team size exceeded three+ sub-ordinates
  • Minimum of three to six years of experience in a Generalist HR role
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills and ability.
  • High level of interpersonal skills and integrity; solid team player.
  • Ability to influence line management, establish and maintain collaborative partnerships and provide thought leadership.
  • Ability to lead in a corporate environment
  • Experience in facilitating grievance and disciplinary processes
  • Experience in facilitating training courses
  • Experience with dealing with CCMA disputes
  • Advanced computer literacy MS Office, Word and Excel
  • VIP beneficial
