Job description

Role purpose:

the forum company has an exciting and dynamic role in the marketing division. We are looking to employ a driven candidate in the capacity of marketing assistant. The incumbent will be responsible for assisting the Marketing Manager in building and enhancing the forum company brand through brand communication, social media interaction, marketing the business to new/potential customers and developing new innovative strategies for the forum locations. 

Key tasks and outcomes:

  • Provide overall support in executing the Marketing Plan as approved by Management, under the guidance of the Marketing Manager.
  • Co-champion branding and digital designs or graphics with Marketing Manager
  • Research and execution of the social media strategy – copy-writing and scheduling regular posts
  • Ensure integration of social media channels
  • Measure and report on the effectiveness of the marketing campaigns
  • Provide support in managing relationships and contracts with marketing service providers including online agency and PR Agency
  • Collaborate with and assists the Sales and Operations teams in order to deliver the correct and professional image for the organization
  • Drive alignment of Sales, Marketing and Operations by providing the forum event support i.e signage, marketing material etc and being present at the events
  • Liaise across multiple functions within the business by providing marketing support for project teams
  • Carry out any other job-related duties instructed by the Marketing Manager, which may involve working in other areas, as demanded by business needs (Private Label functions/ forum events etc.)
  • Assisting with the servicing and updating of new collateral and branded items
  • Assess adhoc marketing opportunities and supports where appropriate
  • Assist with designing of menus and profiles for events
  • Set up and maintains library of photographs, write ups and records of past events
  • Provide support in implementation of the digital strategy
Communications and advertising
  • Assist in managing and implementation of all marketing communications activities including: PR; advertising; corporate communications; event marketing; website, intranet and electronic communications


  • National Diploma and/Degree in marketing
  • Marketing and PR working experience
  • Presentations and communication
  • Excellent writing and spelling
  • Excellent computer skills (MS Package, Adobe Creative Suite incl. InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
  • Social media marketing
  • SEO and Google Analysis Suite (advantageous)
  • Planning, Implementation and Control
  • Knowledge of the hospitality industry
