Freelance Event/Activation Manager

Remuneration:Negotiable depending on experience

Job description


We are looking for a quick-thinking, high-performing candidate with a passion for events, activations and turning ideas into experiences. The successful candidate will be part of a small team and report directly to the CEO. The ideal candidate will have excellent attention to detail, a super-strong work ethic and be a team player with the ability to manage multiple projects.

The event project manager will be responsible for the management and execution of multiple event/activation projects. You’ll need to have at least three years’ experience in the events and activation space with a proven track record of executing events and activations of all sizes. 

The role
  • Lead the planning and organizing of events/activations/campaigns for multiple projects
  • Client and sponsor liaison, keeping on top of internal and external communications, fulfilling all objectives.
  • Deliver detailed proposals/event plans for each activation or event e.g. timeline, venue, supplier, legal obligations, staffing and budgets, etc;
  • Build and grow our strong database of preferred suppliers and partners
  • Responsible for all pre-productions and planning
  • Manage projects from start to finish
  • Budget management – making sure we are always within our budget
  • Responsible for reporting and all post-production


  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • A minimum of three years' event and/or activation marketing experience
  • Experience in events, conferences, activations, Award shows/events
  • Be able to work smart
  • Proven ability to manage projects simultaneously and deliver projects to deadlines.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, nights and weekends
  • Some knowledge of design packages such as Photoshop and InDesign are ideal (but not a requirement)
  • Excellent at working quickly, efficiently and well organised
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent at monitoring key measures
  • Effective at learning and growing from experience
  • Excellent communications skills, written and verbal, combined with a high-level of self-motivation, an innovative approach to problem-solving and a 'can do’ attitude
  • Proactive team player, flexible, capable of turning around work to tight deadlines
  • Passionate about the world of experiential marketing
