IT Technical Facilitator

Nature of contract | Permanent

This is an exciting opportunity to join our client located in Observatory, Cape Town within the IT academic industry. The company is national with two campuses in Cape Town and one campus in Johannesburg. The IT technical facilitator will be managing the end to end technical facilitation process, teachings and development, specialising in all software development programmes.

The successful candidate will be directly responsible and accountable for the entire project lifecycle and supporting internal and external stakeholders, preparation, presentation, assessing and moderating of the various IT courses. The Facilitator’s goal is to effectively facilitate and manage the End User, Technical Support, System Support and System Development courses and team, in a manner that is consistent with the core values of the Institution. This is an extremely varied role and will require you to possess excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.

We are seeking a suitably experienced, self-motivated and team focused candidate to become an integral part of their team. The role will require you to work in a high-pressured environment and enhance the culture of the Institution. The ideal candidate will be hardworking, reliable and have a high level of integrity. Good interpersonal and communication skills will be a core expectation.

Key duties include but are not limited to:
  • Implementation and delivery of above-mentioned training courses
  • Facilitation, assessment and moderation of the various courses
  • Familiarity with various training methods
  • Effective management and planning of training schedules
  • Coordinate and monitor student progress
  • Coordination of programme support initiative
  • Stakeholder engagement and development of the academic profile of the institution
  • Timeous administration of all programme/training initiatives
  • Meet project deadlines
  • Ability to facilitate delegates at various level of the institution including students
  • Asset Management per classroom
  • Preparing extensive reports on student tracking and forecasting
  • Preparing reports and maintaining spreadsheets
  • Assisting in scheduling technicians to attend sites for training and projects
  • Assisting in the initial set up and install of equipment
  • Other administrative tasks as required
Academic support
  • Facilitate various training programmes                            
  • Develop learning material, as required                        
  • Build the learning curriculum programmes
  • Ensure that lesson plans for the following week are in place and required training resources are listed                                                                    
  • Time table management
  • Review new curriculum's and new learning material
  • Innovation for the classroom and better project lines
Assessor support
  • Marking assignments and reporting on learner feedback
  • Moderation of learner POE                                              
  • Ensure all learners POE has the correct information as per the assessor checklist for moderation
  • Manage assessors
  • Check evidence ensure all formatives are marked and learners are given feedback before the summative
  • Backup of all processes and documentation of learners
  • Ensure timeline and deliverables of the project is adhered to
Technical support:
  • IT technical implementation of any IT system or support
  • Any IT hardware related
  • Implement and install the company intranet
  • Implement and manage the online environment
  • Implement and manage the Company server
  • Assessor and moderator certificate
  • Post matric
  • Facilitator certificate or teaching certificate
Qualification and experience required:
  • Diploma or Degree qualification in IT with specific training in technical support; systems support and end-user
  • Two to three years of SQL experience
  • A minimum of 1 year’s team leader experience
  • One to two years of proven experience as a facilitator and have a technical facilitator qualification
  • OCA certificate
  • Code 8 Drivers Licence
  • Assessor and moderator experience (advantageous)
  • A track record of leading and building a winning IT training team compulsory
  • Completing a verification process through MICT SETA compulsory.
