National Sales/Marketing Manager

Job description

Key performance:
  • The candidate must be highly motivated, enthusiastic, productive and with knowledge in management, sales, marketing, networking, key account management and business development.
  • Manage and refine the current and future sales and marketing strategy.
  • Work with the management team to implement and manage strategic initiatives to ensure that annual growth targets are met and ideally exceeded to increase the company’s market share.
  • Manage and develop existing and new key accounts to grow market share and turnover.
  • Work with key clients to project sales in advance in cooperation with production department.
  • Analyse market trends in order to establish pricing strategies, recommend selling prices, monitor costs, competition, supply and demand.
  • Recommend creative, unique and effective selling techniques based on researched market analysis
  • Conduct day-to-day performance management of the sales team in ensuring that sales are on track for achieving targets (monthly, quarterly, mid-term and annual).
  • Manage the sales team in order to ensure that clients (current and potential) are responded to in a professional and timely manner.
  • Attend meetings with customers alongside the sales team when needed.
  • Provide support to the senior management on approaches to building the business.
  • Planning, developing and implementing effective marketing, brand and communication strategy.
  • Identify marketing opportunities through categorizing consumer requirements, defining markets, competitors’ market share and competitors’ strengths and weaknesses, and establish targeted market share.
  • Accomplish marketing and sales objectives through planning, developing, implementing and evaluating advertising, merchandising, and trade promotion programs.
  • Identify trends in the market in order to assist with new product development.
  • Manage and monitoring budgets.
  • Provide timely forecasts with sales and production department.
  • Identifying new growth opportunities by market segments.
  • Develop field sales action plans.
  • Online and digital marketing - social media platforms, website management, content creation and management, liaising with online partners, email marketing and SEO optimisation.
  • Protect intellectual property by keeping information confidential.
  • Attend relevant industry events.

  • Bachelor’s degree/national diploma in business development/sales/marketing.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Minimum seven years’ experience in business development, B2B sales management, marketing and brand development (international sales experience preferred).
  • Excellent B2B communication skills – verbal and written (English and Afrikaans).
  • Strong negotiations skills.
  • Excellent business acumen.
  • MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, QuickBooks (advanced skill level).
  • Able to travel nationally.
