Job description

Mustard Seed Relationship Marketing is an advertising/marketing agency with its head office in Techno Park, Stellenbosch.

The company has around 100 employees spread across the country.

As human resources manager, you will need experience in the following:
  • Recruitment: Fill vacant and/or new positions
  • Appointments: Incorporate new appointees into the company
  • Terminations: Handle according to nature of termination: Resignation, retrenchment, dismissal or abscondment
  • Performance management: Ensure the employee is performing to expected standards during employment. Including probation, performance and development discussion (PDD), disciplinary procedure   
  • Policies and procedures: Maintain a set of rules, policies, and procedures that govern company conduct     
  • Leave maintenance and control
  • Payroll
  • To ensure each employee receives the correct salary on correct date into the correct account
  • Update and maintain all info on the systems and spreadsheets
  • Monthly reports and follow-ups 
  • Employee Relations            
Day-to-day HR issues                                                                                                                            
  • Reference/employment checks from financial institutions and prospective employers
  • Confirmation letters for banks/loan and Visa applications                                                                   
  • Draft addendums for CEO to authorise in the case of promotions or transfers
  • Mail and file addendums after approval       
  • Update and change information on all systems and sheets
  • Prompt line manager to announce on Facebook
  • Issue IRP5 and other SARS information to ex-employees     
  • Issue Reference Letters when required                                                                                       
  • Issue copies of payslips as required
  • Counselling on personal as well as professional issues

Requirements

  • Minimum of eight years' experience in the same or similar position
  • Familiar with all legislature and amendments with regards to human resources (LRA, BCEA, EEA, SDA, OHSA)
  • Familiar with VIP Premier Payroll system - very important
  • Effective interpersonal skills, working well across functions and platforms
