Job description

A new initiative by one of the world’s largest food and beverage companies is to build a global content studio for Africa. This company is at the forefront of a new wave of advertising, one that understands and responds to the demands of the digital world in 2020 and beyond.  

One of the main tasks will be localizing campaigns and content for the various markets. The studio will focus on content adaptation, creation, translation and roll-out of assets to 23 countries in the East and Southern Africa Region (ESAR). The in-house agency will be treated as a startup agency, with a focus on creating rich, dynamic and engaging content quickly.

Act as a brand custodian to the brands you work on, directing insights that overlay community, brand strategy/category performance, paid media, sales and social listening data to provide insights.

We are looking for a switched on, technical data analyst to assist with building automated reports, analyzing data and drawing insightful conclusions from the data to inform marketing strategies, paid media approach as well as media creative approach. There is also a strong focus on working with advanced paid media tools to understand user online behavior and interpret their online journeys to help inform future strategies.

  • Supporting the paid media and creative teams with BI, data, insights and reporting requirements
  • Building and editing reports in Data Studio (with tech add-ons where required)
  • Setting up and maintaining automated financial  reports to relevant stakeholders
  • Analysis of paid media campaign data, audience/environmental performance and providing ad-hoc reports
  • Data mining when needed to discover root causes or changes in performance metrics
  • Creation of reports that can be used to report on in various management and business review forums as well as towards clients
  • Facilitating access to the required data and also striving to make access to information as seamless as possible
  • Transforming, cleaning and monitoring accuracy of data (performing regular system audits to ensure complete and accurate reporting of data/metrics)
  • Ensuring data is extracted, stored and updated in a cost effective and sustainable way
  • Analysing data and providing insights in an appropriate and easy to understand manner
  • Working with advanced media reporting tools to create insights and analyse customer journeys and also data to inform future creative approach 


  • Worked for a large corporate or agency and have experience with FMCG brands
  • You have a degree in a related field
  • You have experience working with big sets of data
  • You have worked in the field of BI and data for at least three years
  • Experience drawing raw data and creating dashboards
  • You have knowledge of reporting platforms such as QlikView, Tableau, Looker or Data Studio
  • SQL/Google Big Query experience 
  • Working knowledge of data science tools and methodologies is an advantage
  • Previous experience analysing digital marketing and product data (Firebase, Google Analytics, Adwords) an advantage.
  • Previous experience analysing audience behaviour/paid media data 
  • Solutions-oriented with a can-do attitude with high energy
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills are imperative
  • You have a track record of delivering high-quality work in a fast-paced environment
  • Focused on getting the job done, yet having fun doing so
  • Taking ownership and displaying accountability in the work required of you
  • There must be a keen interest in e-commerce, and even better the gig economy
