Digital Account Manager

Our Cape Town office seeks to employ a digital account manager.


The digital account manager is generally responsible for planning, developing and managing clients' digital strategy to improve their web presence and achieve their digital marketing goals. In addition, they are responsible for building and managing relationships with existing and potential clients.

Duties include but are not limited to
  • Manage a portfolio of accounts
  • Develop a pro-active action plan for the portfolio in order to meet client retention and budget targets
  • Coordinate the strategic, media and creative process in order to deliver effective campaigns.
  • To build and sustain strong and long-lasting relationship with clients
  • Create and deliver customer campaign plans and ensure the right activity is in place to meet client objectives (along with strategy, media and creativity)
  • To actively propose and help implement new and innovative strategies with creative and media partners in order to meet and exceed the Clients expectations
  • To prepare and deliver top-quality proposals and presentation to clients
  • Oversee the delivery of discovery work prior to briefs into the Agency and presentations to Client
  • To proactively advise clients about digital marketing landscape developments and ensure that campaign strategies are adapted in a timely fashion to meet the requirements (along with Strat/BUD)
  • To ensure that customer reporting utilises the roght metrics, delivers robust insight, includes clear actions and relates clearly to achievement against agreed objectives.  To ensure that reports are properly planned and documented and deliver against campaign objecives, KPI’s and metrics
  • To set up and lead walk-throughs of each monthly report with client ensuring that all content of the report is understood.  To ensure that key insights and advice are outlined, a clear summary is given of performance against agreed objectives and KPI’s and forward actions required.
  • To maintain knowledge on an ongoing basis of developments in SEO, paid search, display, remarketing, email marketing, affiliate marketing, social conversion optimisation, website design, inbound marketing and other key relevant channels that provide traffic and conversions fo rclients
  • Maintain a strong understanding and high proficiency of use of the key analytical and market intelligence tools (Google analytics etc)
  • To analyse and draw insight from third party analytics data and other sources across multi-channels, including ppc and display platforms 
  • From time to time additional duties that fall within your capabilities may be added on
  • Matric essential
  • Relevant tertiary qualification (marketing and communications) essential
  • Drivers licence and own reliable transport essential
Skills and attribute/key competencies:
  • Proficient in MS Office suite (incl. Mail, Word, Powerpoint and Excel) essential
  • Diverse and excellent writing skills
  • Analytical skills with ability to interpret information
  • Ability to think strategically
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Team player with initiative
  • Ability to cope with pressure, work to tight deadlines and handle diverse activities
  • Reliable, organised and attention to detail
  • Passion for client delivery and service
  • Accountable with good follow-through
  • Four+  years relevant experience within an agency that includes a variety of digital channels- SEO/PPC/Display/Social/Email and Content
  • Experience of SEO practices
  • Good understanding of web design and development process including: UX, scoping,project management frameworks
