Job description

Our highly successful consultancy client offers a highly specialised bouquet of services primarily to JSE listed and Corporate clients.

The role of senior new business development specialist is a key EXCO role essential to driving new business development activities through a variety of innovative sales strategies and techniques. 

A key responsibility will also be the ability to build strong long-term client relationships, as well as leveraging those clients in order to improve revenues and in so doing increase ROI.

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to: 
  • The formulation and implementation of strategic Customer Relationship activities
  • Remain acutely aware of developments in the market, in order to identify potential new business targets
  • Be vigilant in being continually aware competitor development and new innovations, and be agile in coming up with new strategies and techniques to keep the company ahead of the pack
  • Working to stringent targets in order to maintain the companies ambitious continued growth projections
  • Strong networking abilities required, in particular when representing the company at industry events and conferences
  • Be the face of the company, and always project a professional but confident front - the ability to enter conversations with senior champions of the industry at EXCO level  is of paramount importance in being effective in this role
  • Identifying opportunities to add new innovative service offerings to clients


Requirements

  • A tertiary business qualification would be preferable - previous new business development experience of 10 years plus at a corporate level is essential
  • Superb presentation skills are a must-have, to be backed up by a track record of successfully pitching for new business
  • An unrelenting drive, motivation and ability to acquire new revenue streams and increase the company ROI
  • Must have the ability to negotiate at EXCO level 
  • Must be highly numerate at budgetary level, highly organised, and have had previous experience using CRM systems
  • Fully mobile and the ability to travel
