Job description

A group of companies based in the V&A Waterfront requires the services of a highly motivated Business Developer to elevate the current portfolio and to capitalise on new business opportunities. The Business Developer will be afforded a premium corporate infrastructure and the opportunity to work across multiple industries in a dynamic environment.

  • Build relationships with existing and potential clients through sales and marketing strategies
  • Assess and target new business relationships and business development
  • Increase revenue and provide recommendations for new business development
  • Compile professional presentations, pitch material, and proposals of products and services
  • Attend conferences, meetings and industry events to generate leads and increase sales
  • Initiate a structured sales and marketing review meeting with executives and directors on a weekly basis
  • Manage a structured networking plan with regards to client visits, launches, presentations
  • Manage the development, execution and reporting of sales and marketing strategies
  • Planning and management of new sales and marketing initiatives
  • Proactively look for ways to improve performance, communication, procedures and systems
  • Develop a growth strategy focused both on financial gain and client satisfaction
  • Conduct research to identify new initiatives, markets and client needs
  • Training personnel and helping team members develop their skills
  • Provide trustworthy feedback and support to executives and directors

  • Minimum of five years of working experience at executive/management level
  • Must reside within a 10km radius from the V&A Waterfront
  • Proven record of business development, sales and marketing
  • High level of critical, analytical and logical thinking to identify underlying facts, reasons and principles in business
  • Must be willing and able to work more than just office hours depending on business prospects
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (both written and verbal)
  • Strong personality with the ability to push ideas forward and present concepts well
  • Adhere to and meet all KPI's by achieving monthly, quarterly and annual targets
  • Proficient in MS Office and highly computer literate
  • Quality decision making action with an entrepreneurial aptitude
  • Team player and ability to work independently
  • Ability to meet deadlines and must be results orientated
  • Accuracy of execution and attention to detail
  • Up to date with business and industry news
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Personal drive, professionalism, integrity, honesty and loyalty
