Job description

Boutique investor and stakeholder communications agency in Hyde Park is seeking a middleweight project/account manager with experience in integrated annual reports and results projects.
 
This individual will be responsible for carrying out the following duties:
  • Project and production management from content received to final sign-off of all integrated annual report and results-related material;
  • Client liaison and meeting clients to discuss the business objectives and requirements of the job;
  • Forming strong relationships with clients, with regular communication regarding costs, timelines and scope;
  • Receiving client briefs;
  • Interpreting the client's business needs and developing a concept to suit their purpose;
  • Estimating the time required to complete the work;
  • Managing, scheduling and monitoring the team of internal and external project resources to optimise capacity;
  • Being the interface between the client, the studio team and the supplier team/s;
  • Producing, managing and controlling all project documentation, and monitoring scope creep;
  • Obtaining quotes and costing projects;
  • Monitoring and tracking production projects to ensure proper and timely completion works with outside vendors to meet production deadlines;
  • Ensuring that timely and informative communication takes place between the creative function and the partners, account management team and clients;
  • Creating a schedule for new jobs, and assigning tasks to the team, as required by the managing director;
  • Reviewing current and future timelines and job statuses with the individuals working on those jobs and management;
  • Rescheduling projects according to new or changing priorities, as can happen when the studio takes on new clients and/or “rush jobs”;
  • Reporting back to management about the Company’s current workflow and related issues, such as too much or too little work coming into the studio at any given time;
  • Working with the managing director on invoicing, and/or changing costs due to ad-hoc/rush jobs or unexpected deadlines;
  • Assisting with new business development; 
  • Contributing to the strategic and creative development of the Company’s marketing and branding efforts for new business development;
  • Developing design briefs by gathering information and data through research;
  • Thinking creatively to produce new ideas and concepts;
  • Working with the design team to implement client brief;
  • Presenting finalised ideas and concepts to clients and account managers;
  • Interacting with freelancers or outside contractors and getting them up to speed on jobs they will assist with;
  • Performing quality control, proof checking and proofreading of copy for clients’ corporate and stakeholder communications before delivery to client; 
  • Learning clients’ communications conventions and brand preferences;
  • Researching clients to keeping up-to-date with their businesses, competitors, sectors and related subject matter;
  • Assisting with quality control of marked-up, hard or soft copy changes and author’s corrections; 
  • Scrutinising design elements for errors or inconsistencies to maintain quality – these include infographics, iconography, typography, charts and graphs, among others;
  • Commissioning illustrators and photographers;
  • Working as part of a team with printers, freelancers, copywriters, photographers, stylists, illustrators, other designers, account executives, web developers and marketing specialists;
  • Adding value to the customer experience by exceeding their expectations;
  • Media liaison and working with a wide range of media, including photography;
  • Managing client electronic marketing campaigns;
  • Assisting with website content management and electronic communications;
  • Driving constant improvement in the Company’s creative quality and capabilities; 
  • Continually learning, evaluating and implementing new marketing communications technologies within the Company and for client campaigns;
  • Maintaining equipment and supply inventory; maintains accurate files and records;
  • Working collaboratively with the partners, participating in Company strategising, and make recommendations for changes to the creative function to meet market changes, competitive threats or to support strategic plans.

Requirements

  • Valid drivers licence, with own reliable vehicle — is a must
  • Tertiary qualification (diploma/degree)
  • References to be provided
  • High level of computer literacy (Microsoft Office)
  • Exceptional organisational and project management skills
  • Chase software experience will be advantageous
  • Previous account manager work experience in an agency environment (at least five years)
  • BTL agency experience would be advantageous
  • Numeracy
  • Critical thinking and problem solving
  • Highly analytical and able to work in a high volume/complex environment
