Job description

Triggerfish Animation makes award-winning animated TV and movies like Revolting Rhymes, Stick Man, Khumba and Zambezia from Cape Town, South Africa. Our animation studio and most successful in Africa, is working on our next feature film which will be an international release. We are looking to hire a Payroll/Accounts Administrator to join our growing team.

Working with the accounting and human resources teams you will accurately execute the full function of payroll whilst ensuring company policy, audit and legislative compliance.

You will ideally have two to three years of processing payroll on Sage Pastel Payroll and payroll admin experience.

As payroll administrator will need to be aware of any and all relevant business or tax laws, as well as company policies while being responsible for:
  • recording, maintaining and updating company payroll procedures
  • preparing payroll related reports including updating employee numbers etc.
  • preparing and distributing monthly employee pay checks
  • payroll reports reconciliation
  • performing various accounting tasks as required
  • assistance where required with finance administrative processes
  • processing and reconciliation of leave (annual / sick or other) on our in-house HR system
  • processing of overtime (when needed)
  • processing of terminated employees and issuing of UIF forms
  • maintaining employee records for new hires, pay changes and terminations
  • liaising with production and ensuring accurate information is sent to our off-site Payroll Consultant
  • execution of all tax related processes as per SARS requirements including processing monthly EMP201, reconciling yearly EMP501 reports and sending IRP5s to staff
  •  maintenance of data integrity within the Payroll system
  • employment Equity reporting to the management team
  • payroll reporting to the finance team as well as assistance where required with finance team processing and other administrative tasks


Requirements

  • Two to three years' experience as a Payroll Administrator
  • Payroll experience within a complex, variable environment with different employee types is essential
  • Payroll administration certification is advantageous
  • Working knowledge of payroll related tax legislation
  • Previous experience in human resources or finance department an advantage
  • Must be able to work with the pressure of regular deadlines
