Job description

The position: National sales manager
Reports to: COO
Liaises with: All departments

Vision for the role

Private Property wants to be seen as South Africa’s property authority and connect people to the place they call home. The national sales manager, reporting directly to the chief operations officer is responsible for the implementation and coordination of sales strategies in compliance with policy guidelines in South Africa. Responsibilities will include motivating and leading the sales department and ensure that team targets are met. This role will include extensive travel.

Key responsibilities
  • Determines annual unit and gross-profit plans by implementing marketing strategies; analysing trends and results
  • Establishes sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas for regions and territories; projecting expected sales volume and profit for existing and new products
  • Implements national sales programs by developing field sales action plans
  • Maintains sales volume, product mix, and selling price by keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors
  • Establishes and adjusts selling prices by monitoring costs, competition, and supply and demand
  • Completes national sales operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results
  • Maintains national sales staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees
  • Maintains national sales staff job results by counseling and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed


Company Description

Private Property is a multi-side marketing property platform that presents property listings, news and advice to property shoppers and charges real estate professionals to market to that audience. It does this by presenting relevant property content through custom designed and developed applications and web platforms. We are part tech company, part media channel and part content publisher.

Requirements

  • Marketing degree or equivalent is a must 
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in a Senior sales role, with experience in leading and managing remote teams
  • Digital marketing, online marketing experience and understanding 
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) 
  • Confident public speaker. Comfortable and competent with delivering presentations to large groups 
  • Industry knowledge is a huge advantage. Successful applicant must have at least purchased or invest in their own property 
  • You will be required to travel nationally
