Buyer

• Process daily purchase requisition into purchase orders.
• Material requirements planning with the stores to determine stock items to be replenished.
• Obtaining the required number of quotes before procuring items needed.
• Selecting the supplier and ensuring the required quality at the best possible price is procured.
• Following up on the outstanding orders to ensure the timeous delivery.
• Following up of delivered items that are not receipted.
• Ensure compliance to the company’s procurement policy.
• Supporting company BEE procurement policy.
• Providing procurement support of highest standard to all functions within the company.
• Ordering of and ensuring sufficient levels of coal, oil, packaging and ingredients are maintained.
• Ordering of all engineering and consumable stock items.
• Processing and ordering of all ad-hoc items as required by company.
• Monthly maintenance and housekeeping of procurement related documentation.

• A post-matric purchasing qualification or similar will be advantageous
• Two to three years' working experience as a Buyer in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Computer literacy: Knowledge of Sage X3 or similar accounting package, MS Office
• Good negotiation skills and experience
• A high level of integrity and honesty
• Ability to apply initiative, good judgment, and creative thinking
• Effective organisation and communication skills
• Deadline orientated
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure
