Quality Improvement Manager - Medical Doctor

The Council for Health Service Accreditation of Southern Africa NPC is a registered Section 21 (non-profit) company and a leader in the field of healthcare quality improvement, patient safety, and accreditation of health care facilities across Africa.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the planning, organising, and coordinating of support to clients;
  • Collaborate with colleagues and partners on new programme developments;
  • Manage the quality advisor team to deliver the best possible service to clients;
  • Assist healthcare facility teams to implement COHSASA’s quality improvement and accreditation programmes;
  • Guide healthcare staff in the required quality improvement processes to meet the standards and move towards international accreditation;
  • Evaluate healthcare facilities’ compliance against predetermined accreditation standards;
  • Participate in external evaluation surveys.
 Requirements
  • Current registration with HPCSA.
  • At least five years’ post-graduate clinical experience in a hospital and/or primary healthcare setting within the last 10 years.
  • Appropriate/recognised practical and organisational management experience, preferably in both the public and private sector.
  • Knowledge of quality improvement methodology and the implementation and maintenance of quality improvement processes and systems.
  • Computer literate with proficiency in MS Office packages.
  • Be willing and able to do extensive traveling away from home on a regular basis.
  • A valid code eight drivers licence and willingness to drive long distances.
  • Fluent in English and at least one other official language.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, including report writing.
  • Excellent time-management, problem solving skills and, and effective leadership skills.
  • Be able to work in a flexible, fast-paced environment, as well as outside of normal working hours.
  • A healthcare management or business management qualification would be an advantage.
