How Pick n Pay shelf space boosted this small, family-owned hygiene business
Great business ventures do not necessarily need to immediately hit the big stores but they can actually just start from humble beginnings. From personal usage to expanding their idea to a whole new market simply shows that anyone can tap into a market where there is going to be actual demand. The idea does not necessarily need to be extravagant but something that someone would ultimately see a need for.

Equal pay is not a demand - it's a right
The wage gap doesn't mean inequality. It's the result of different choices between the genders. When you give maximum opportunity to everyone, you maximise the biological differences between men and women. Men tend to work more dangerous jobs, work longer hours and put work first. This doesn't make men better just different to women. Seriously the world wouldn't work if people didn't put families first. I work in an environment were all the top positions are held by women. Listening to them talk about how oppressed they are is just sickening.

Demystifying storage solutions: Hyper-converged vs. SAN solutions
Data is king regardless of whether it is being used by an individual or by a large corporation. Regardless of the purpose, data is needed to ensure progress can be a consistent aspect of daily operations. Thus, proper storage solutions become a huge priority for this factor to be realized which can then be applied accordingly.

Position, position, position
As with every product, you're expected to position your product properly so that you attract the right people! This even applies to a person themselves! If you wanted to attract a potential life partner, you've got to market yourself and be a good product to begin with right?

Recycling is not enough. Zero-packaging stores show we can kick our plastic addiction
You know a lot of people are quite proud of the fact that they "recycle" in their homes, but what I've realised is that there are still so many things that we could be separating into the recycle heap that we just aren't doing. If we want to do our part, we need to make a larger effort!

Creative coalition to challenge Copyright Amendment Bill
The Coalition grossly misstates what the "first sale doctrine" entails. The bill makes clear that exhaustion of the distribution right is not with respect to "the work," but to an "original or copy" of the work. This has been the law in the U.S. for over a century, with no harm to copyright owners yet important benefits to society. Millions of people cannot afford to buy new books or new movie DVDs, but thanks to the first sale doctrine, may obtain them used by resale, lending or gifting. "(6) Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in this Act, the Trademark Act, 1993 (Act No. 194 of 1993), and the Counterfeit Goods Act, 1997 (Act No. 37 of 1997), the first sale of or other assignment of ownership of an assigned original or copy of a work in the Republic or outside the Republic, shall exhaust the rights of distribution and importation locally and 5 internationally in respect of such assigned original or copy." Section 202 of the U.S. Copyright Act contains a corollary to the codification of the first sale doctrine in Section 109: It makes clear that rights in the copyright and rights in the copy are two different things. Selling a copy conveys no copyright. Selling a copyright conveys no copies. Thus, to exhaust the distribution right with respect to a particular copy has absolutely no effect on the copyright owner's exclusive right to reproduce the work or make derivative works.

How to choose an essay writing service
Thank you for the article. I agree with you. Many students use writing services in their assignments. And it is very important to choose professionals, in fact it depends on them whether the paper is written correctly, the absence of mistakes and plagiarism and whether the student will have time to hand it in on time.

It's time to rethink how foreign languages are taught at universities
Hi Fiona, I loved your article! It resonated so deeply with me as I am a "dappler" in languages but master of none! If I had immersed myself in the motivation and social context for me learning other languages I would probably have been more proficient. Your perspective on learning in general is also relevant and I believe learning should be happening "in the streets" more.

I bet it won't be long for this jewellery chain to reach global heights soon enough. With the quality that they are promising and prices that are affordable for their range, demand is bound to soar. Quality is the number one factor that consumers need when it comes to jewellery and they have it.

Equal pay is not a demand - it's a right
Fanie, Your argument is flawed. Are you suggesting that if men don’t put work first that they should accept a pay drop? I have seen many women accomplish much more in the same work hours as some men, so does that mean those men should also accept a wage decrease? Or what about single fathers? What if you suggested they take a 30% drop in salary because they are the primary parent? Would that father be able to take you to court for that? But yet women don’t have the right to take companies to court for the gender discrimination that occurs on a daily basis. It’s a joke.

Driving during loadshedding
At the end of the day, every road user needs to practice graciousness and remember that they are not the only ones on the road. Whether as a pedestrian or a driver, everyone needs to have control. A little courtesy would go a long way to make daily commute for everyone a breeze.
