'Fundi' initiative raises funds for wine steward training

Appropriately named "Fundi", all proceeds of the sale of these wines go towards training previously disadvantaged candidates from the hospitality sector, and a large base of unemployed South Africans, as wine stewards.

A number of wines - all premium red blends - were selected from Stellekaya, The Company of Wine People, Anwilka, Waterkloof and Hartenberg, and are available to consumers at R120.00 per bottle from Makro outlets and selected wine stores, or online at www.cybercellar.co.za.

For more information on the wine and training project, visit www.fundiwine.co.za.

Restaurants/hotels interested in supporting the programme: for every ten cases (60 bottles) bought, you can nominate a staff member to attend the course free of charge. The following establishments have each bought at least 60 bottles of Fundi:
    - Blues Restaurant
    - Sinns Restaurant
    - 95 Keerom
    - Grootbos
    - Winchester Mansions
    - Pepenero Restaurant
    - Krugmans
    - Carolines Fine Wine
